”2000 Plus” T.Bukia. Grade 5. Lesson 9 (p.25)
Lesson title: “What is missing.”
Aim: a) Identifying more verbs in the Past Simple.
b) Commenting on a mime
c) Following instructions.
Needed activities and methods: group work,
pair-work, guessing games, miming, competition.
Process of the lesson.
1. Greeting. Checking the list of the students.
Who is absent ?.. What’s wrong ?..
Time: 5 min.
2. A. Listen and guess.
Identifying verbs in the Past Simple.
We write verbs on the board. (some known,
some unknown). We mime an action that maybe expressed by one of them.
We ask class: What did I do?
Students answer in turn.
B.Continue with sts., taking your part.
Time 10 min.
3. A. Look and complete.
Supplying missing forms.
Sts. fill the grid in S.b. (p.25).
It is filled partially.
Sts. fill the forms on the analogy of the given forms.
B. Check on board. We invite one student, other dictate only the forms missing in S.b. Then other Sts. come and write the forms given in S.b.
Time: 10 min.
4. Reading a text and underlining wasn’t / weren’t
Time: 5 min.
5. Listen and mime. A guessing game.
What did he do ?
Invite 3 sts. to the board (Ex.3 p.26)
St.1 mimes some action.
St.2 (facing the board) What did he do?
St.3 gives the information. He danced.
St.2 repeats the mime.
Class is the judge: Right / Wrong.
Students can use their imagination and they can also use the ideas from the given list (p.26)
Time: 10 min.
6. Hometask.
Write 10 sentences from the grid (p.25)
Time: 3 min.
